2008 Resale Statistics

Happy New Year everyone… found some really interesting facts from Ticketmaster about the resale count and value of various 2008 events. 2008 was an interesting year for ticketing companies and ticket sales in general. World Wrestling Entertainment had a higher resale value than that of the Yankees, Red Sox and Cubs by $153.00. In the overall event resale count, Wicked ran away with the prize by selling over 70,000 tickets, 25,000 more than the next closest event, that being the Yankees ’08 season. One of the largest resale values of the year were for Billy Joel’s “Last Play At Shea” which sold at nine times the going rate that being $876.00. We’ll see what 2009 has to offer and see if the market will change, or remain the same.
