Live Nations ticketing service has taken its first steps into the market with confidence and guts. Many concert goers and fans believed that the break of Live Nation from Ticketmaster would cut the various convenience fees and service charges that plague these websites. However, Live Nation has thoughts of its own and is proving to be no cheaper than Ticketmaster with their *in*convenience fees.
An example of this continuation of charges can be seen with Live Nations, Zappa Plays Zappa show in which tickets were being sold at $45.00, with a service charge of $10.05 per ticket and an order fee of $3.80. Thus, for a pair of tickets for what should be $90.00, turns into a $113.90 investment. Now these charges change depending on the show, location and venue, but with this example, Live Nation is not doing much to step apart from the competition.
I believe that its time for a more transparent company to take charge that will lay out the price in one bulk sum, rather than continuing to trick your buyers and adding over $20.00 to their purchase in fees and charges. Live Nation is not holding up to their word, but rather proving to continue the trend of shady little fees here and there that really add up to an unhappy customer.
