With the Bowl Championship Series on tonight, many college football fans are getting pumped up, yet, there are even more fans protesting the game. The B.C.S. is supposed to be the top two college football teams battling it out for the bragging rights of the best team in the NCAA. The issue with this game is the decision making process of choosing the teams to play. With many teams ending the season with 1 loss and an undefeated team in the mix, there werent any clear-cut top two teams this season.
You got unbeatable Utah, 12-1 Texas, 12-1 Southern California, 12-1 Florida and 12-1 Oklahoma all fighting for the two spots for this game. The teams playing tonight are Florida and Oklahoma; featuring the Heisman Trophy Winner Sam Bradford and last years winner Tim Tebow. Regardless of the great talent thats going to be on the field tonight, fans and player of the teams left out of this bowl match are furious that their team didnt get the chance to play.
Now this isnt the first time this issue has occurred as many seasons end with multiple dominant teams. People typically take on the roll of commissioner this time of year as they send in complaint after complaint and suggestion after suggestion. One such suggestion is having a NFL-type playoff rather than a selection process for the bowl games. Regardless of the countless attempts to change the rules, the have remained the same Florida will be playing Oklahoma tonight and the winner will be crowned as the national champion; maybe this bowl series will have an effect on the comish’ and the NCAA and well see some change in the future.
Jokelahoma stinks. They had no right being in that game last night. Not that they woudl have fared any better, but Texas got the ol’ screwjob. And until Washington & Washington St. rename their football programs, "club sports", USC can pipe down, too.
Thanks for commenting on my article Randy. I totally agree with you, they had no pressure for the entire second half. IM with Obama in enforcing a playoff… gotta do it.
