Live Nations move for independence has caused quite a stir-up in its first month of service. From their faulty promise of ultimate transparency in accordance to extra purchasing fees, to the inconsistency of their services, Live Nations in-house ticketing service isnt quite what was expected. Yet, as if the new year couldnt get much worse for LN, news broke out today about a venue that has revoked LNs promotions after seven years for an increasingly popular promoter out of Nashville.
The Koka Booth Amphitheater in Cary, NC, has decided to go in a new promoting direction with Outback Concerts. Outback is a promotion company that evidently fulfilled the amphitheaters long-term goals and overall direction for the year to come. Now, despite this being only one venue that has chosen to separate from LN, this is still a very surprising wake-up call for them. For a venue to turn down a name such as that of Live Nation leads many other venues around the nation to possible reconsider their promotion services.
I believe that Live Nation will survive this break-up, but while having issues like these to pop up in more than one field of their company; definitely makes me and Im sure many other concert fans weary.
I really like the idea of outback concerts. You can celebrate with thousands of people, loudest music/bands and you don’t have to care about the neighbours. Only the thing with the rubbish could become difficult.
