Phish Tour Release Crashes Live Nation Ticketing Service This Morning

I know I have done many stories on Live Nation and I’m sorry if this seems redundant. However, news continues to trickle out leaving LN vulnerable to me yet again.

So… Phish’s 2009 Tour went on sale today at 10:00 AM on Live Nations in-house ticketing service and the system didn’t really work out too well. When Phish fans gathered around their computers this morning waiting for that last long minuet prior to the release, LN’s ticketing service crashed.

Some people were lucky enough to get as far to enter their security code and ticket request before they experienced the crash, others weren’t even able to have the correct page load. Moral of the story… Phish is way to popular of a band for Live Nation to handle and with that being said, what’s to come when A-class artist take their turn with LN?

The bottom line is that no matter how much everyone criticizes Ticketmaster, their site and program simply WORK. So why don’t we all take a look at some of the comments left on LN’s page today:

• “Wow LIVE NATION IS WORSE THAN TICKETMASTER! Anyone have luck?”
• “TOTAL LAME, I was on the screen, pressed reload at 10:00 and haven’t been able to get on livenation since.”
• “I got to the point where I put my ticket request in and then the security code and then it crashed. What a joke”
• “Same thing just happened to me! Never thought I’d ever say this, but I want ticketmaster back!”
• “So much for the big Live Nation ticket website. What a joke. Come back ticketmaster, all is forgiven.”

When taking a look at these comments, its pretty obvious what the general consensus of Live Nation’s ticketing service is – it sucks. The end.
