This Is A Wow Moment

So, as summer comes creeping along bands all across the board are stepping up for summer tours. Today I will enlighten you all on two huge tours for classic rockers and ex glam freaks. The first of which features three powerhouse bands from the screaming ‘80’s: Def Leppard, Poison and Cheap Trick. This gigantic tour will start up on the 23rd of June and stretch 39 dates to September 6th.

This tour’s pre-sale will fall on March 4th but you need to sign up at the PrivatePass Website for details. Joe Elliott of Def Leppard is promising that this will be THE rock show of the summer and is pumped up to be back in the states. This show does sound very enticing, but when word broke loose of another gigantic tour that will be kickin’ in the summer air, I didn’t really know what to think.

The Styx, REO Speedwagon and 38 Special have also agreed to rock the summer starting on May 13th and will continue until mid July. Tommy Shaw (Styx) and Kevin Cronin (REO) felt as if in these tough economic times, that they should participate in making this tour more accessible to everyone as they are charging tickets for as low as $13.50 in most markets. These bands are famous for keeping ticket prices low, as they don’t want any fan to be left out, and that message does ring very nicely in these times. The “Can’t Stop Rockin’” tour is captioned with Cronin’s words: “The world is going through a weird phase and everybody needs music now more than ever. We all need to join our friends, pool our resources, combine our energies, because there is power in people coming together. That spirit has brought REO and Styx together to write, record and tour together and celebrate it all with the greatest fans in America.” (Summer Rocks! – Pollstar).

These two tours will surely kick off summer right and help ease many minds in this time of economic drought.
