Michael Jackson Confirmed for ‘09 Extended-Stay Tour

News broke out today as Michael Jackson has been confirmed for an extended-stay concert series. The whereabouts and dates of this gigantic comeback are to be announced within one weeks time (Via TicketNews), however rumors speculate that Las Vegas or London might have an edge over various other cities. This comeback will not be a traveling tour, but as stated, and extended stay tour (30 or so dates in one location).

Reasons for this comeback aren’t certain, yet Jackson’s large debt might play some role in this endeavor as items from his Neverland Ranch and collectibles from throughout the Jackson years are to be auctioned off during a five-day auction to relieve some the of the debt that has corrupted the pop king in recent years.

The reasons surrounding the decision for the tour have no weight compared to the fact that Michael Jackson will be lighting up the stage soon. TicketNews quotes Jackson as stating; “I am now in the studio developing new and exciting projects that I look forward to sharing with my fans in concert soon.”

I believe that this tour along with Thriller-meets-Broadway will thrust Michael back into the spotlight under a positive filter. I hope to see people begin to appreciate his music once again as he is undoubtedly a musical genius. I’ll update you all with the tour location and dates when they are released. Until then, throw on your Thriller album and get ready for trouble!

If he dedicates it strictly to Asia and the Pacific Ring, he’ll do fine. If he tries to come stateside, promoters will lose their collective asses. All those bottom feeders that surround him and not one with the sense to tell him "enough".
