After multiple attempts to reach a settled agreement, Manny Ramirez and the Los Angeles Dodgers have reached some common ground. Enrique Rojas of ESPNdeportes reported that two agreed to general terms for a two-year $45 Million deal. This offer that they have made some progress with is strikingly similar to what the Dodgers offered Ramirez about four months ago. So as Manny realizes that he isnt the $100 Million Man that he thought he was, a nice solid $45 mil will have to suffice. However the road is not smoothly paved from her to the start of the season as Mannys physical along with other negotiations remain in the way.
Ramirez is scheduled to meet with Dodgers owner Frank McCourt today out in L.A. to continue this arduous negotiation process.
Rumor has it that Los Angeles might be over paying with this $45 million offer since a number of other teams who would be interested in Ramirez, might not have the cake to bring him over, especially now that were creeping into March. Teams dont have free agent money like that lying around this time of year after many trades and pick-ups have taken place. I believe that Manny will be back in LaLa Land when the season starts, and will continue his tear at the bat as his fielding continues to lack.
Yep.. you were right.. Manny is right where he belongs.. He will help to bring the Dodgers another Division Pennant.. His bat is amazing and he has a good heart but watch that attitude. They pay you to play the game.. then play the game! How about Sheffield signing with the Mets.. yeah baby!
