So, I was jumping around on YardBarker - Collection of online sports blogs, athletes blogs, sports news, etc. - today and I came across a fascinating article. The title read as Ronaldo To Be Trained By Lighting Bolt; so as my mind was interpreting what I was reading, I realized that one of the best and fastest soccer players to ever play the game was going to be trained by the worlds fastest man yes, as I said, fascinating.
Christiano Ronaldo is perhaps the best soccer player in the game today and Mr. Bolt is the best (fastest) sprinter in the world today. So when you combine the two what do you get? You get something along the lines of sports crossover training.
This has never been done before and is an ingenious idea. Now, as I said, the article I read today laid out this new experiment with far more detail and examination than I could do on the topic, so I wont try to rehash the authors words, but rather share the link with you all, so you can read it for yourself. However, I will discuss what this new training technique might lead to and why it is so cunning.
With combining Ronaldos already impressive speed in the wing position for Manchester United with the impeccable training of Usain Bolt, Im positive that notable results will be noted. This is the first experiment of crossover training but I feel as if it really could aid countless athletes and make sports even more competitive. Ian John, author of the YardBarker article Im referencing you to states that this form of training really could catch on and take off with success, Tottenham Hotspurs could employ Basketball superstar Shaquille ONeal to teach goalkeeper Gomes how to come out and catch the ball properly. (Ian John Ronaldo To Be Trained By Lightning bolt). These are just two examples of how crossover training can really improve certain aspects of an athletes talent. But, I wont keep you any longer. Make sure you read Ians article as he gives countless examples of how this new training can really catch on.
Very nice site!
Wow.. this practice can make for a team of super athletes with no crink in the armor.. A higher degree of competitiveness as well. Usain Bolt is amazing.. what a show he put on at the last Olympics and what a pleasure to watch him run and do his thing!
