Now I have given all of you a little break with Ticketmaster news, but they just cant stop messing up. Phish was set up to perform at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado for a four-night stay. Tickets for this event were suppose to go on sale in a week or so, however Ticketmasters system allowed fans to purchase seats last night. The issue with this glitch in my eyes wasnt the fact that they went on sale early, but how Ticketmaster solved this reoccurring tendency. Rather than allowing fans that bought seats last night to keep their tickets and leave it at that, Ticketmaster hastily cancelled all the orders that were processed and in turn increasing Phish fans pure hatred for Ticketmaster.
This wouldnt be a HUGE deal if this were one of first issues they have had, but with the amount of mess-ups that they have been responsible for the past four months makes this a serious issue. Another aspect that I cant fathom dealing with is the fact that Ticketmaster royally screwed Phish fans on their last tour which took place a little over a month ago. So the poor fans that gave TM another shot, really just shot themselves in the foot once again.
This hiccup really extended much further than most could have expected; as some of the ebay-savvy sellers who got tickets last night had already had their four-night allotment for sale at prices ranging from $2,800-$4,000 per ticket. These guys who were fortunate enough to catch this pre-pre-sale then got messages of their orders being cancelled. So they will have to be patient once again and give Ticketmaster ANOTHER chance on the 26th of March. I dont know if I would even try if I was one of the Phish Phans that has gotten beat on the past two chances to buy tickets, but Im sure the diehard fans will be there promptly awaiting for their real shot at getting seats.
The head of Ticketmaster is Irving Azoff … enough said!
In Asheville, Ticketmaster sold to only a few tickets to a lucky few in the front of the long line. The rest of the tickets Ticketmaster diverted to their SCALPING subsidy, TicketsNow.
The public’s trust has been violated as the Asheville venue is a public civic center.
TicketsNow SUCKs and Ticketmaster should be stopped for what they have done to the live music experience for millions of people.
I hope the President fixes this when he is done going after AIG!

Definitely an inconvenience but all four day passes were sold in minutes!! Ticketmaster canceled the orders and gave people a $50 gift certificate.
I’m excited to return to Asheville in June for the show. Phish needs to have concerts in every major market to stimulate the economy. :o) Bruce Springsteen and company went public with their distraught at the whole Ticketmaster / Ticketsnow situation. It’s amazing what multi million dollar companies think they can get away with.
Hello i would like to let the public know how we are all getting ripped off by (drum roll) our old friend Ticketmaster. I along with many other fevered Phish Phans have been awaiting this summer since ‘04′ in Coventry to come our way, well it did and the tickets sold out in a matter of seconds, i went online yesterday to get my tickets for the Gorge shows and guess what, as soon as the time came for them to go on sale, oooops they were sold out, hmmmmm well then i started searching around i came across several so called ticket agencies selling the 49.95 ticket price for 125. on up to 1,200 dollars (no joke) well one of these companies who have bought all the tickets from Ticket master is Ticketsnow.com owned by (drum roll) Ticketmaster, thats right they buy all the tickets up and tell the fans they are sold out then turn around and post them for sale at much, much, much higher prices at another company???? Am i just dumb or our we getting takin for ride on the magical mystery ticket ride? Lets put this to rest and not feed the beast, does the boys of Phish know about this? Is this not a form of ticket scalping? What is next????? Please lets get the word out…. Like me i am sure alot of fans of Phish and other bands are being robbed and let down for not being able to see their favorite bands.
Thank you
