Ticketmaster CEO… See Ya!

To put it bluntly, Ticketmaster is going through hell with all the negative press surrounding the company. Ever since the merger was announced, Ticketmaster and Live Nation have really been under the gun and last night another sketchy act took place.

Sean Moriarty, President and CEO of the Ticketmaster division of the to-be-merged company called it quits last night. Also removing himself from the board of directors, Moriarty ‘s stay in the company seemed quite fragile once Irving Azoff came aboard last fall (TicketNews). Evidently, Moriarty grew increasingly weary of the company’s direction under Azoff; especially with the merger plan at the forefront of the list of priorities.

Azoff and Moriarty never seemed to see eye-to-eye. Yet, this was never shown to the public until Azoff testified before Congress that he – unlike Moriarty - would not have bought the secondary ticket company TicketsNow, which has brought on a whole other wave of criticism to Ticketmaster. However, with Azoff appearing as the antagonist in this resignation, Moriarty left with grace, “I’ll always be grateful for my time spent at Ticketmaster with its truly outstanding people and I wish the company every success in the future”. Lets see what direction Azoff leads the company in, but I just don’t see how people will forget about these past four-dreadful-Ticketmaster-months.

Ticketmaster has always been a rip off.. and their customer service sucks.. They aren’t helpful at all.. I have had several experiences with them!! Now we have to deal with this behemoth company that monopolizes ticket sales.. Consumers beware with Azoff!

I hope this makes a difference in a positive light. The way ticketmaster has been run is insulting. Hard to imagine it could get worse.

hard to find anybody these days that thinks favorably about Ticketmaster…aka Ticketbastard. I’m a big U2 fan and just purchased tickets yesterday in a fan club pre-sale…amazingly it went smoothly! This was not the case during the last tour…their system was overloaded and kept kicking everybody out. Well, not everybody…LOTS of scalpers and ticket outlets got tickets, but no fans. Lets hope it all turns out better this time.

    Thanks Justin for your reviews.

In my capacity in hotels the info is useful.

Ticketmaster was a very essential tool for the hotels and it generated revenue. Lets hope and work for the best days ahead.
