NBA FINALS… It’s Game-Time

No matter where you turn, talk about the NBA finals is everywhere.  “Who’s it going to be?” you may hear with four of the biggest names in basketball all in the semi-finals: Kobe and the Lakers, Carmelo and the Nuggets, LeBron and the Caves and Dwight “Superman” Howard and the Magic.  I don’t care who you are, but seeing any of these two stars going up against each other when it matters the most will surely be a site to see.

Currently, the Lakers have 2 -1 lead in the semi’s over the Denver Nuggets and Kobe is averaging an astonishing 37.7 points per game, not to bash Melo’s average of 31 points per game including his 21 point game three that was limited due to foul trouble.  On the Eastern front, the Magic are leading LeBron’s Cave’s 2 – 1 despite LeBron’s 49 point per game average in this series.  Are we going to see the stars continue this dominance in the finals?  Some critics believe that semi’s are actually going to be the more star-studded games and the finals will determine the better team.  According to the Sports Assassin when talking about a possible Kobe – LeBron final, “In two games against the Lakers this year, LeBron has averaged 19.5 points, missed 31 of his 45 shots, missed 10 of his 13 three-pointers and missed half of his free throws.  Against Cleveland, Kobe averaged just 19.5 points, missed 22 of his 39 shots, missed 6 of his 7 three-pointers and only shot six free throws combined in the two games.”  These statics represent a common thread in NBA basketball when two greats face-off.  At times the two great powers on the floor cancel each other out, and its left for the team to step up.

We’ll see how these semi’s shape up, thus far, I’m thinking Magic – Nuggets in the final.  I know that’s not what anyone wants to see, but the Magic had a pretty dominating win last night, and I think Carmelo wants to beat Kobe more than anybody so he’s included in this endless argument of who the best NBA player is today.  We’ll see how it all plays out, incase its not a Lakers-Caves final, here is a great Kobe – LeBron Nike commercial to fill your urge.
