Blink-182 Virtual Concert Experience

Blink-182 Virtual Concert Experience

As many of you may now know, Blink-182 is back in the swing of things and are gearing up for their Virgin Mobile Festival.  This fest will be free of charge to the public and goes along with Blink’s wishes of affordable ticket pricing for their reunion stretch.  This is a great idea and all however, news broke out of another concert that they are performing that is unlike any other… ever.

One of Blink’s tour dates will be in virtual land and costs the same as a bag of chips.  This virtual showcase will be a streaming interactive 3D concert experience unlike anything ever before.  Doritos and their “Late Night” line of chips will promote this concert and to gain access to the show, fans must have purchased one of these bags of chips and put the special marker in front of their computers webcam – if you don’t have a webcam on your computer, it seems as if your out of luck.

According to Wired.com, the fans are able to move and shake their bag of chips to activate certain interactive actions such as, zooming in and out and other features.  Similarly, after the first song is complete, noise picked up from the computers microphones will influence how readily the encore song will be preformed.  This is definitely an innovative idea and allows much of the world to attend this “show”.  More information about this event is available at ticketmaster.com/doritoslatenight and event tickets like these aren’t as tough to come by, so be sure to buy your chips if you wish to attend this first virtual concert experience.
